Dumbarnie Links currently has seasonal positions available within the Food & Beverage and Greenkeeping departments.

Junior Sous Chef

As a Junior Sous you will be expected to assist in the overall running of the kitchen and take responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef. In this role you will: 

  • Ensure consistency and the smooth running of food production 
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared and served according to specification
  • Monitor the quality and presentation of food prepared 
  • Ensure effective stock control and storage 
  • Ensure working areas are always kept clean 
  • Supervise and support the performance of kitchen staff and provide guidance when required
  • Perform administrative tasks as required
  • Work towards exceeding customer’s expectation by encouraging and promoting high level of service 
  • Promote good team spirit to ensure kitchen staff work harmoniously in order to ensure timely production of quality food 
  • Assist with the preparation and supervision of kitchen cleaning schedules
  • Manage temperature logs
  • Report maintenance requirements according to company policy

Commis Chef 

An eagerness to learn and a good exemplary work ethic is essential.  Duties will include:
  • Adhering to HACCP procedures
  • Assisting with the food preparation process 
  • Cooking and preparing elements of high-quality dishes 
  • Preparing vegetables, meats and fish 
  • Assisting and supporting team members 
  • Assisting with deliveries, restocking and stock rotation 
  • Cleaning work stations 
  • Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards. 

Food and Beverage Assistants (Full and Part Time)

Working in a variety of roles within the food and beverage operation, duties will include:

  • Welcoming and greeting guest’s
  • Delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring our 'member for a day' philosophy is upheld
  • Taking food and drink orders promptly and accurately 
  • Delivering food and beverage orders in line with company procedures
  • Communicating effectively with the Kitchen team and other departments
  • Maintaining all front of house and guest areas to ensure they are clean and well presented at all times
  • Dealing with payments and charges in line with company procedures
  • Preparing and maintaining all service points and areas
  • Operation of the on course catering cart

All positions are on a seasonal basis and include weekend and shift work over 7 days.

Seasonal Greenkeepers

As a Seasonal Greenkeeper you will be expected to maintain the golf course and landscaping around the golf course, clubhouse and club facilities.

Experience Required:

  • Six months of experience in golf course grounds maintenance or greenkeeping is preferred

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations:

  • Knowledge of golf course operations
  • Knowledge of irrigation systems
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in an emergency situation
  • Co-operate with, and respect fellow employees
  • Present a professional image at all times
  • Interest in the game of golf is preferred

Job Tasks/Duties

  • Plant and maintain ornamental shrubs, trees and flowers
  • Perform basic labour on the golf course
  • Trim and feed shrubs and trees, remove cuttings
  • Maintain landscape beds around clubhouse and golf course grounds
  • Rake and blow leaves, walkways, parking lots, cart storage areas and driveways
  • Mow greens and fairways by operating walk-behind turf equipment
  • Pepare and lay sod
  • Fill divots and repair ball marks
  • Basic operation of utility vehicles, sod cutters, weed-eaters, hand-held blowers and small equipment
  • Rake and edge bunkers and periodically fill with sand
  • Load and unload materials
  • Repair and maintain driving range tees
  • Clean any/all equipment used on the golf course grounds
  • Aerify and spike greens
  • Dig holes and trenches to maintain or construct irrigation and drainage lines
  • Install pipe and backfill excavations
  • Empty waste bins
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Perform manual watering on the golf course
  • Perform other appropriate tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions
All positions are on seasonal basis and include weekend and shift work over 7 days.
